The perfect wedding is a matter of opinion. Some go the simple route, and others have everything done up to the nines. After a large amount of time, energy, stress and money, the day finally comes. But the fact is there is a lot to do before the big "I do," and every bride can use a little help from their friends and some highly trained specialists.

Those heading down the aisle can take a walk on the Woodstock Square on June 22 for the Wedding Walk hosted by the Woodstock Wedding Network. The free event will feature a total of 54 local industry vendors showing couples their very best in terms of what they can offer to make their special day complete.

“There’s always something that you don’t think of when you’re trying to plan your wedding,” said Dana Brandt, president and founder of the Woodstock Wedding Network. “There will be a ton of local vendors that all know each other and work together. Come and see what’s trending and see what’s out there.”

Brandt is also owner of Happily Ever After Photography in Woodstock. The three-hour event also will feature DJs, make-up artists, florists and more.

Attendees will be able to sample food and cakes, do some wine tasting and test out photo booths. The Tickle Me Pink mobile bridal shop will be on display, and brides and their wedding party will be able to try on dresses at Mixin’ Mingle. They also can make an appointment for a future visit from the fully stocked bridal dress shop on wheels to visit their home.

The first 100 brides who register will receive a swag bag filled with goodies and discounts, and all attendees can buy $1 raffle tickets for a chance to win prizes from vendors including accommodations for a four-night Cancun honeymoon stay.

Different from a traditional bridal expo, this festival-style event also will feature a white dove release and fashion show and has other surprises in store.

“It’s going to be great time, and it’s a huge convenience for brides to come and meet vendors face-to-face to compare and contrast who they vibe with and what works for them,” Brandt said. “You can do all of the leg work in one day. It’s like one huge wedding appointment.”
