“Hold On To the Nights," or specifically the night of June 29, if you're a Richard Marx fan.
The pop/rock singer, known for a string of hits (including the one above) in the 1980s and 1990s, is scheduled to perform this summer at the Raue Center for the Arts, 26 N. Williams St, Crystal Lake.
He's among a line-up of acts, shows and plays slated for the Raue's 2013-14 season. In a sneak peak at the season, the Raue revealed some highlights of performances through Oct. 12.
An announcement of the Raue's full season lineup is slated for July 1.
Along with Marx, performing as part of the Raue's 2nd Annual National Piano Conference from June 27-30, another national act includes a rescheduled concert by Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary on July 27. Yarrow's April concert was cancelled due to illness.
Performer Jamie O'Reilly and her musical partner Michael P. Smith will perform "Songs of a Catholic Childhood" on June 22, and Chicago cover band "25 or 6 to 4" will perform Sept. 7.
Other shows include "Heartache Tonight" on Sept. 14; Ben Vereen on Sept. 21; and "Big Bad Voodoo Daddy" on Oct. 12.
The Raue announced some new initiatives, such as a comedy week presented by Williams Street Repertory, the Raue's in-house theatre company, with "You Only Shoot the Ones You Love" on Aug. 11; "Comedy Caberet" on Aug. 15; and "Improv Comedy Night" on Aug. 17.
As part of the Raue's 3rd Annual Hispanic Heritage Month, Williams Street Repertory will present "New Voices," a play development workshop from Sept. 23-28, resulting in a staged reading of a contemporary new American work from a Hispanic playwright.
Joining these shows are audience favorites, such as Lucy's Comedy Cafe, beginning June 21, and a revamped Lucy's Music series, beginning Aug. 2.
