Find your own McHenry County Christmas tree
By NICOLE ALVARADO - firstname.lastname@example.org
For many, the holiday season starts the second the Thanksgiving dinner has been cleared. A great way to transition into the holiday spirit is to start with a family outing to the local Christmas tree farm.
For the same amount of money (or less) as it would take to buy a plastic Christmas tree set-up, you can enjoy an evergreen of your own choosing, while also helping local businesses.
Many of McHenry County’s farms offer complimentary services such as cups of hot chocolate and cider; assistance with shaking, baling or cutting the tree; saw and twine loans; hay rides around the premises and gift shops.
We have compiled a list of McHenry County’s Christmas tree farms and their hours and locations, but it still is a good idea to call ahead to see what supplies and services are offered, double check the hours and learn what forms of payment will be accepted before you go.
